Zimex Aviation – Common Behavioural Standards System
Monday, October 8th, 2012
During 2012, ITL has partnered Zimex Aviation in implementing the Common Behavioural Standards System. The Zurich-based operator provides support for Red Cross operations in Africa and oil & gas & mining exploration at multiple bases throughout the world. They operate 15 x DHC-6 Twin Otter, 6 x PC6T porter Pilatus and 1 x Beech B1900.
ITL is proud to be of service to such a forward-thinking operator as Zimex. Regarded as the leader in Twin Otter operations, their desire to raise the standards bar led them to adopt the CBS System to achieve this goal.
Since April 2012, all Instructors, Examiners and Training Captains have been standardised via the Standardised Flight Instructional Skills (SFIS) Course and the Common Behavioural Standards (CBS) course. All line pilots and key management staff have also undertaken the CBS course. The Operations Manual has been thoroughly revised and updated. The Training Manuals have been completely re-written using the SFIS/CBS methodology. Simulator Instructors and Examiners have also just completed the first cycle of one-on-one On-the-Job Development with the second cycle planned for Q2 2013.
All of the training has been received extremely well and Zimex have acknowledged the immediate benefits of the system.
ITL is proud to be of service to Zimex and we look forward to achieving even more in 2013 and beyond.
